At the gateway to the Sutherland Shire, Sylvania is 21 kms south of the CBD and hugs the southern banks of the Georges River.
There is a thriving business and residential element to Sylvania with the 2007 population standing at 13,223 ( this figure incorporates adjoining Kangaroo Point ).
